Validation error after change of boot HD RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting a validation error after I changed my boot HD (because it was running out of space).  I installed the new one and installed Windows 7 Pro using the Product Key on the sticker of my PC.  I also left my original drive as a secondary drive in the computer.

  • You appear to have installed your OS using Retail media together with the OEM_SLP Product Key - this can never work.

You need to change the product Key to the one on your COA sticker (if your machine has one) and activate that.

If your machine has no Windows 7 Pro sticker, then you will  have to use the manufacturer's recovery media to do a clean install.
