  This has yet to be vetted, but http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials will be active on June 23, 2009 according to the fact sheet presented here: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecaregeneral/thread/012289d8-50ac-4979-aa58-622d209bd6fa

   

  If this fact sheet is authentic, it looks like some of the suggestions made here in the forum have actually been incorporated into Microsoft Security Essentials (Morro). So maybe someone is listening.

  Once it goes live, I'll update the announcement post in the General forum. The download will be available via the Connect site, as far as I know - http://connect.microsoft.com - so be sure to sign up for a Connect profile if you don't already have one.
