What's the maximum cluster size of windows hpc pack RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

We are planning to use Windows HPC and would like to know what's the maximum size a windows cluster can expand. Are there any limitations? At what point HPC cluster sees performance issues.

    Thanks,

    Puneet

  • Hi Puneet,

Our testing target now is 2500 nodes with 10K cores. In that scale, you might need to lower down the metric reporting frequency a little bit. And you need a fair good machine for headnode and SQL server. And in this bench we successfully stressed with SOA workload for week.

And our next target goal is to test 14K cores. But if you have real needs that is beyond this number, let us know and the detailed workload parttern.

  • This cluster size looks fine to us.
