I can't reply to discussion thread with the forum to close out discussion????? RRS feed

  • Question

  • To Dale Howard,

You provided a response to a thread which I created titled  -  "Is there a way to publish a single task?"...... I have been trying to reply for several days with no luck?    I did not know of any other way to notify you of the issue I am having trying to reply to the thread....... so I had to ask a question (which you can delete once you read)!

Issue:  Whenever I click on the 'reply' button within the discussion thread the spinning icon continues and doesn't stop.  Yesterday I clicked reply and waited ten minutes before finally hitting the cancel button.  I have tried to 'reply' for past 3 days with no luck?  Any thoughts on why I am experiencing this issue?

You asked me to verify something (which I did) and I wanted to reply with deatils on my test / the results so that the thread would be completely closed - and to thank you and the other responders for help?

  • Hi Kellie--

Since you asked question to Dale, It may take a few hours for Dale to get online on forums.
we all are here to help all community users in a best possible way. Shall I try to help you? If yes, Please see the below response.

When you click on "Reply", internally it fires a javascript function for reply box to be appear. Would sugges to check your thread on any other browser like firefox, chrome etc & see how it works.
I have been using the IE7, 8 & 9 but didn't encounter such issues. probably, you can ask the question to find IE settings for fourm usage.

Dale might provide you more inputs once he is online.

  • Hi Amit,

Thank you so much for your quick response.....I am always open to all suggestions and I appreciate your reply above - very helpful.  I typed email directed at Dale so that he would know I was not ignoring his request to do a test and reply but should have addressed to general forum audience (sorry about that)!

I used firefox and it now works fine.  I have no idea what changed to start causing this issue (as well as the errors I am receiving when accessing PWA ....but this was a very helpful solution to begin troubleshooting!
