connect with MSCRM 2011 outlook client to a server from outside the domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I have the following case.

I have a computer that has Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 outlook client installed. I am trying to connect to the Ms Dynamics Server. The problem is that my computer is outside of the domain of the CRM Server. With CRM 4.0 i succeded  in making this scenariowork, but CRM 2011 Otlook client configurator does not allow me to enter the user name and password for the Crm Server.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

    Tudor

  • You need to deploy CRM in an internet-facing deployment using claims-based authentication. Please refer to this white paper for more detailed guidance. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=202394.

  • It is also possible to manually cache credentials for active directory if you follow these steps:

In Windows 7 (might differ a little for Vista or XP)

    1. Go to Control Panel
    2. Select User Accounts -> Manager Your Credentials
    3. Under Windows Credentials select 'Add a Windows credential
    4. Enter address servername (no need to add http)
    5. Enter your domain username and password
