  • Question

  • I have difficulty formatting text (I cannot chose type and size of fonts).
I don't find any information in the Need Help with Forums? (FAQ)

Ooops! I now see this thread ;-)

    Thanks.

  • Hi Matt,

I think that allowing users to change the font size and or the text was a good thing (I know, if used with moderation).

    Thank you for your reply.

  • My take on it was that it was not used in moderation but by users who wanted to "inform" us how important their post was by putting it in large text; bold; using RED BOLD all over the place etc.

It was for me an even more annoying thing than the equally attention grabbing (Hey, my post is important) use of several question marks; masses of exclamation marks; "Urgent!!" and "Please Help me!!!" texts in subject lines.

More annoying mainly because it was slightly more trouble to get rid of...

    I don't see any difference :-).

Actually, I'm all for getting rid of HTML editing also.

  • Yes, we'd really love to strip all unwanted font tags and other stuff, but the reality is we have too many legacy posts with all kinds of ugliness in them that we have to work with. We've discussed kind of forking at some point in the road where all new posts will have a pretty strict html validation, that just one more of many things we want to do :)
