Using synctoy between internal network PC and DMZ server. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a need to synchronize (specifically echo) a folder between a PC on my internal network and a file server in my DMZ.  Can anyone tell me what firewall port I would need to open up to allow this to work?  Thanks!

  • SyncToy itself does not copy files through special port. Just before you doing the sync, make sure you could manually copy files between your PC the files server in you DMZ.

  • So if I can copy via Windows explorer between locations, I should be ok, right?  That means that I need to open up ports to allow Windows Explorer traffic.  Is that on port 445?  TCP, UDP, or both?  Thanks!
