New Recognition System

Question
-
Hi All,
Right, I am coming at this from a very SQL Server orientated perspective, but...
To my understanding, the reason for changing the recognition system is two-fold. Firstly to improve the quality of contributions which is positive (although I think is already pretty high. Certainly in the SQL forums) and secondly to persuade people to contribute in all parts of MSDN/Technet, not just the Forums. This is cool, and I would love too. I have wanted too for ages, but...
From a blog perspective, I blog regularily on http://sqlserverdownanddirty.blogspot.com, but I can not have a blog on MSDN or Technet, because I am not an MVP or an MS Employee. I know this, because I tried to get one last year, before starting my own blog.
From a code sample perspective, I have loads of code samples I would love to share with the community, but currently there are NO SQL Server code samples, so I have no idea what kind or complexity of sample Microsoft want/expect. Also, how will this work for pure administrators, who are highly skilled and very helpful in the community, but do not nessesarily fit code samples?
I would love your opinions on how I/we can proceed, to be activly involved in the MSDN/Technet community, whilst fitting in with the new plans...
Thanks,
Pete

Thanks Peter. Great questions all around.
I'm not sure I have a great answer for blogs hosted off of our blog platform just yet. Definitely something I'll be thinking through.
As to SQL samples, anything you've got that you think would be helpful. Simple, complex, they'd all be welcome. We have opened up a new TechNet Gallery here (http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/) that would be a great place for those scripts.
The new system will also be expanding into Forums and potentially other sites within TechNet and MSDN. We definitely hope to find a way for all people to gain recognition for what they do. Stay tuned!

Hi Sean,
Sorry, slightly confused. Just went to upload a script to Technet Gallery, but there are only 3 categories: Exchange, App-V and System Centre. Do you know when a SQL Category is likely to be added?

I don't but I know who to ask... hang on one sec.Friday, April 29, 2011 12:19 AM

SQL Scripts can go here: http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/site/search?f%5B0%5D.Type=RootCategory&f%5B0%5D.Value=databases&f%5B0%5D.Text=Databases&f%5B1%5D.Type=SubCategory&f%5B1%5D.Value=sqlserver&f%5B1%5D.Text=SQL%20Server
and that'll go toward the new recognition system.

Hi Peter,
I see several familiar faces here http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/site/search?f%5B0%5D.Type=RootCategory&f%5B0%5D.Value=databases&sortBy=Date
I also added a new script today, but somehow the description I put right before the script disappeared.
