Quick Create Form CRM 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In the CRM 2013 when I create an opportunity record from an account record I want the opportunity to be defaulted to the account where I am creating the opportunity. Is there a work around for this to default the record I am creating to be defaulted to /regarded to/ the respective Account where we created the new record? I think is how it works in CRM 2011.

    any Java Script idea ?

  • Hello,

This quick create form is global for CRM and not tied to current opened Account. To make Customer field filled you should open Opportunities Associated View and create opportunity from it. Check following screenshot:

  • I just tested it and found that OOB it is working as you described. When I tried to create the opportunity from the sub-grid on account form and from the associated entities (command bar) the account was per-populated as expected.

Check the relationship between Account and Opportunity. This mapping should be present by default. Not sure if the upgrade caused any change or something else.

In this case Test Account1 needs to be tied to the Opportunity automatically since i am creating the opportunity with in Test Account 1.
