off topic - A noob and his video card... RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have a problem with my video card slot. The plastic covering is not there and there are alot of bronze prongs with thier tips slightly bent. How can I put the plastic covering back on, so I can plug in my video card?? Can I straighten the little prongs?
Can I put in the video card anyway? What do I do?

I would not put the card into the slot, as it will risk frying both the PC and the card.

I recommend taking it to a local computer repair shop unless it is still under warranty to the PC manufacturer/retailer, in which case I'd be contacting them.
