Patch Downloads are a problem for blizzard.ent.com RRS feed

  • Blizzard downloader says i need to configure firewall to allow patch downloads how do i go about doing that?

  • The downloader is likely to be an exe file. If OneCare is blocking it, you should see it listed in the Advanced firewall settings - change settings, firewall, advanced, programs. If you see the program listed as blocked, change it to allowed and run it again.
    If the downloader requires certain ports to be open, contact Blizzard for what ports they are. You add the ports to the Ports and protocols tab in the advanced firewall settings.

    Another option is to shut down the OneCare firewall temporarily when doing an update for your game. Turn it back on after the update has completed.
