Boot Sequence - wrong RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Booting up Windows Mobile 6.1, the (perceptible) starting up sequence currently is like this:

    1. Windows boot screen
    2. Manufacturer's Welcome screen
    3. Home screen
    4. SIM PIN screen
    5. Home screen

This doesn't provide for anything like:

    • Raise emergency calls without "logging in"
    • Boot quietly
    • Keep any unauthorized person from reading personal information on Home screen (see here )

A common mobile phone's boot sequence is something I'd strongly suggest to get implemented into Windows Mobile if Microsoft further intents to sell this product on mobile phones. It should be something like:

    1. Windows boot screen
    2. SIM PIN screen (providing means to immediately interpret 3-digit numbers as emergency call numbers)
    3. Option to run in Quiet mode immediately by having the user keeping some particular key pressed
    4. Manufacturer's welcome screen
    5. Home screen
