Where can I ask very stupid questions for studying? RRS feed

  • Question

  • As a very beginner, I have alot of questions which they are usually foolish. From reading the Training Kit book I don't get always the answer for very basic things. For example: "What's the difference between Domain Controller and Domain Services"? or "Why we need either Sites and Forests"? and so on... I am ashamed to ask like these questions in the regular Technet Forums. Is there a special forum for like these idiotic questions?

  • A lot of your questions could be answered by picking up a book on Srever 2008.  Or...if you're looking to get certified (which is what this forum is mainly geared towards) picking up one of the MS Press or Sybex books on Server 2008 Active Directory.

I'm not an English speaker and I'm not sure if I understood you. Did you point me to a specific forum or did you just tell me to ask my questions anywere on Microsoft's forums?

  • Never be embarrased/ashamed of your knowledge, we all have to start somewhere.

I will say that the training kit is a very boring book to read, from cover to cover, and is an excelent "how to" sort of book, but as per the other people commenting, you do need another easier to read book, that actually explains the concepts behind how or why things are done as they are. Try and look for a book thats perhaps not aimed at passing the exam, but a more general book, such as the Sybex Mastering Active directory book for example, as its good with explanations.

Hope your studies are going well. I passed the 70-642 last month 83-640 on friday (fingers crossed)
