Converting and validating/registering my WinXP RRS feed

  • Question

  • About two years ago, I had bought a copy of an original WinXP SP1 but I had not installed it in my PC because I had just got a new job with an IT company in Singapore. They took my PC and installed all new original software WinXP and all, they were working fine for two years. About two months ago, I left the company and now on my PC there is a promting from MS when I went into the MS update that my software maybe not genuine. How do I get my original Win XP SP1 registed and validated without reformating and reloading the software. Please help as I have a lot of important files that I cannot erase, if I need to format my hard disk to reload the original WinXP SP1.

Please follow this simple troubleshooting procedure:

    1. Download and run the MGA Diagnostic Tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    2. After running the MGA Diagnostic Tool, click on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy to Clipboard".

    3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post. http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25

    4. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.
