Code block c++

    Question

  • It's not easy to paste a C++ code block.  You hit the "Insert Code Block" button.  Then type your code (TAB doesn't do the text-editing thing in this box, by the way.)  and then for language you choose C++...wait a minute... there is NO C++ language choice??  Why not??? Fortunately C# looks reasonably close, except that it's just the wrong thing to do .

    #include <map>

    int main( void )
    {
        return 0;
    }

  • Yes, we hope to get C++ in soon. We'll look at things we can do to improve the code formatter dialog as well. Thanks for the feedback.

  • As I just mentioned to someone on another forum:

    It would be nice in the meantime if you could insert a code block where the language was simply "text" or perhaps "other", until you get support for C++ in.  That way you could still get blocks that are offset the same way as code, but without colourization or metadata.  Or even just add C++ and use an implementation of a pass-through formatter until you get syntax colourization working.  This much seems like it would be only a very small amount of effort.

  • Yup, we have plans to add that for the end of the month as well.
