Notifier info makes no sense.

Take a look at this screenshot:
Notice that:
-Only one of my devices is online
-That device is attempting to download 35GB of info. And it was managing it as well, that value of 78.4 got larger
Simple question, where is it downloading all of this 36GB of data from? It can't be Live Desktop because we can only store 5GB in there.
Some extra info. My "Music" folder is a mesh folder and is syncronised across multiple devices, it contains approx 50GB of mp3 files. The way I got the content onto multiple devices was to physically copy it there (i.e. without using Mesh) and then merge the folders using Mesh as normal. The contents of the folder on each folder should have been, nay WAS, exactly the same.
This screenshot was taken at 22:27GMT yesterday evening which was apprximately an hour before I created the Live Mesh log cab file for device XPS1 that was subsequently uploaded here: https://connect.microsoft.com/LiveMesh/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=360540 so you do already have the logs for what was going on at this point.
So again, any idea what's going on? Something is not right, would you agree?
cheers
Jamie

What MP3 player do you use on the computer?
on the Where it's downloading... that's a really good question heh, if you get some time, create log files and create a bug in Connect for me with them, Title: Single Device Sync'ing so I can flag it quickly.
Thanks!

Maybe the other devices are on but you ar just not connected to the mesh ? Because of you choose "Work offline" you can still Remote Desktop, maybe mesh can still get to the files to sync to...Thursday, August 7, 2008 10:44 PM -

Have you figured this one out yet?

Jamie,
To be clear, the bug report link you have above points to Feedback about having a lot of FNL files and says "not a bug". Did you mean the logs in that link?
I took a look at those logs and indeed, it looks like only that device is online. If the client is unable to reach devices to download from, eventually those numbers will go down to zero (it looks like it did). Since you have a large set of data to download though, this may take a really long time. The numbers also reset on start-up.
The Zune media player is also known to touch/edit music files, which would cause changes to the files (and possibly conflicts if they've been touched/played on other devices), which would account for the larger numbers (since conflicts are factored into those numbers as well).
Hope that helps.

Richard,
That's correct. Because the logs on that submission contain information that is pertinent to the information in this thread.I can concur that Zune sems to update a lot of files seemingly unnecassarily which is rather annoying.
When you say that the numbers are reset do you mean that they are reset to zero? That's not been my experience.
