Live OneCare missed "Personal Anti Virus" - Spyware

Question
-
Live OneCare missed "Personal Anti Virus" spyware which installed and was giving bogus trojan horse attacks. I ran the scan after it appeared and it still did not recognize it as a problem.
I was able to remove it using information I found on the Internet below, but
===== Problem ======
How do I remove "Personal Antivirus" software?
i accidentally down loaded "Personal Antivirus" and and now it pops up every time i turn on my computer. It also causes these pop ups that say my computer has been infected with trojans (such as: Trojan.Win32.Agent) and other viruses. It also makes it was i can not go to certain web sites. I have norton antivirus and i want to remove "person antivirus" but when i try to uninstall it, nothing happens.
Personal Antivirus is a rogue (fake) anti-malware application.
=========== Resolution ==============
click start
go to all programs
then find the thing that says "PAV"
and then click uninstall
if it doesn't work
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Uninstall\PAV\Uninstall.lnk
copy the link above to ur toolbar
then press enter
and then when the downloading thing appears click save
Wait for it to download
then open tht file
And wait....
It has to say "Personal Anti Virus was succesfully uninstalled" or anything tht says the PAV was succesfully uninstalled
If it didn't say it was succesfully uninstalled
repeat it again and again
And there u have it^^
I got affected by it too
my sis doesn't know wat to do just like me
But when I found tht thing
it actually worked^^
Good luck~- Moved by swapnilpBanned Thursday, August 13, 2009 10:45 PM Not related to Suggestions and Feedback for the Forums (From:Suggestions and Feedback for the Forums)
