off topic - Internet Explorer Disconnects Repeatedly RRS feed

    The computer (HP) is running Windows XP and every time we try to go on-line, we get the "Internet Explorer has encountered an error and must shut down..... blah, blah, blah".  We have seen this message before and always in the past, once we restart the computer, everything is just fine.  But this time, we don't ever get to the point where we can use the computer... it simply repeats the pattern.  We get the message, shut down and re-start.  Even if we do a hard shut down and wait a long time in between shut down and re-start - all we get is the message again and we can not get to the Internet.  Can someone help?
