Mitel 3300 - Ms Integration moving to Linux RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have just seen a Mitel document which states that their Live Business Gateway product, which enables connectivity between the Mitel 3300 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, will no longer be able to run on a server running a Windows Server Operating System. Any version past the current 3.1 will be required to run on the Linux operating system.  I have since spoken to an engineer at Mitel who has confirmed this.

Does this seem like bizarre behaviour to anyone else?

  • Actually no, it makes perfect sense.  Microsoft products are too unstable a platform to run telephony on it.  Linux, or anything of a UNIX-variant is the best to run on--stable, secure.
