Failure at Microsoft.crm.setup.common.registerasyncserviceAction

Hi all--

I was wondering if anyone has seen this when installing Version 4? It is causing the install to fail, and we cannot start the Server through the deployment Management tool.

Do you get any more useful messages in the setup log. This should be in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs

I had the same issue. I finally resolved it after following another error I found in my Application Event Log related to performance counter registry strings. Check this out:
