Duplicate detection in CRM 2011 RC – accent detection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

We are working with CRM 2011 RC and just noticed some wired behavior of the system.

When you create a new account with the same name but without an accent (Example: Societe de base (exemple)) as an existing one (Société de base (exemple)), the system detects that there is a potential duplicate but does not tell you which record it is.

You get this message in French:

    “Enregistrements en doublon potentiels: Aucun”

Note: the SQL Collation method = AI (Accent Insensitive)

    Thx for your help.

  • This issue was an error in the application. It has been corrected in the roll up 2.

  • As this is an issue with the Release Candidate (which is a Beta version), you could post this in the CRM 2011 Beta forum, but I suggest you try it on the RTM (release) code, and if that's still a problem I'd raise it as bug. The behaviour looks like the duplicate detection is working correctly at the SQL level, and using the SQL collation, but then something (probably in managed code) is not applying the collation properly to list the duplicates
