    Hi,

I'm afraid we don't have anything to announce at this time, but I've added your vote for integrating SkyDrive and Live Mesh to our internal list of suggestions!

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Please make sure that integrating these two doesn't entail that we'll have only 5G of storage space instead of 2x5G :-)

I second this opinion.  It makes perfect sense as does being able to access it via windows explorer. (ie drive letter)

  • Add a vote for this!  But instead of the previous comment, please give us 1x25G instead of 5G.... since SkyDrive just upgraded. ;)  I kid I kid... I don't care how much is available, all I know is I just don't touch my skydrive, and use my mesh folders MUCH MUCH more, because of the syncing capabilities, AND because the folders are sitting there on my computer's desktop... no need to log into yet another site.  Thanks!

  • Please add my name to the list as well. I'm student at Georgia Tech and have been using Mesh for a while now. I mainly use it to synchronize my tablet pc with my desktop at home. However my notes and some classes’ videos take a good amount of the 5GB. In other words I’m running out of space already. However skydrive provide a whopping 25 GB that I could definitely use on my Mesh account.

Also I don't see any reason in having multiple storage accounts all over the place, like skydrive, Office Live, My Spaces blah blah. I much rather have one big storage of 30GB than six small 5GB ones. Integrations is the word please combine all and give us the 30GB

    Thanks Al

    Hi Al,

You have perfect timing!  We just posted a sticky asking for details like these.  Please add your thoughts, and be the first to contribute to the new sticky!

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Hi,

What is the current progress of integrating these services (mesh and skydrive at least)? I also think that integrating all of them (including Office Live Workspace) is GREAT idea.

Are there any chances that skydrive will have an option to add it to "my computer" as one of the drives or is there any way to ad it as network drive?

    Regards,
    Tom

Ps. One more question. Some of the files I am synchronizing through mesh between laptop and desktop are quite big. I don't store them online (upload would take to long and at the moment 5gb storage limit is a problem). Having that in mind it would be great if some folders could be marked to synch. but only if both computers are on the same (for example home) network. Simply... if I ad video that is 150mb big i do not want it to slow down my internet connection (upload at 320kbps would take a lot of time) but when I get back home I would not have to remember to upload it to my desktop (lan is usually much faster) and I would not have to use any other service or tool to again sync certain folders. Any chances of that in future?

  • I'm afraid that none of your questions can be answered as Microsoft typically won't announce planned features or changes until they are ready to be announced or released. :-)

No, I don't know anything more than that, but agree that these services need to be integrated.

As for your "ps" - that is a suggestion item; see this post for how to add it or vote on it if someone else has already suggested (and I suspect that they have) this:

Sticky: Live Mesh Beta: Suggestions - Now with voting!
