Automatic Gain Control Scheme RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    I have a question.

Normal devices have automatic gain control schemes, but SORA doesn't have this scheme.

Why doesn't SORA have the automatic gain control scheme?

Is there anyone to implement this automatic gain control scheme?

    Thanks,

    Byoungjin

  • Actually there is a 2-level automatic gain control scheme in our released 11b sample.

You can find it at bbb_spd.c BB11BSpd function.

  • Hi Byoungjin,

If you mean adaptively tune the rx gain on radio hardware, We didn't implement it as well as wifi rate adaptation because (1) Sora is a research platform rather than a commercial device, we believe it will be more useful to open the control than finish all the functionality. We have provided all the necessary APIs to implement AGC and rate adaptation, if you are interested, you can try different AGC and rate adaptation algorithms on Sora. (2) We have very limited resource therefore were not able to implement a sample version of AGC or rate adaptation in the package.
