how to check if pre-installed copy of WHS is full registered version? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Both my Acer server(s) came with WHS pre-installed by Acer and the microsoft product keys tags stuck to the back of the server(s).

Stupid question most likely but as I have seen no requests / flags to "register" the WHS software does this mean that registration was done automatically when I initially started up the server or do I still need to manually register (if so -where? a link would be appreciated). How can I tell if I am still running on an unregistered full version or most unlikely a trial version? Acer not available to answer this until 21st dec (specialised dept handling servers open 8:00 to 17:00 mon-fri........)  Thanks

  • From the WHS Console, click on settings near the upper right, then click on resources.  If you are running a trial, eval, not activated, it should tell you how many days are remaining.  If you do not see this, then you are legit.  Most major OEM's, HP, Acer, etc. have pre-activated and no action is required on your part.
