Add new searchable fields into Activities RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I need to add a new field (a lookup to Companies) into the different kinds of 'Activities' (Tasks, Faxes and so on). This should be easy (I added a Many to 1 relationship in each of the Activities, I made the Attribute searchable, and I then included the new field into the relevant forms).

Now I need to have the 'default' quick search in Activities able to find records considering the values in that field. Despite I made each new attribute 'searchable', the quick find does not work...

I also need to add into the 'Activities' views this new column, but.... it is not available. I can only add it into the 'specific' activity views (for tasks, or for faxes and so on).

    Any suggestion?

  • This won´t work cause you can´t add custom attributes to the activity entity. Therefore your search will only work if I search in a specific acitivity type e.g. phonecalls.

  • The Activities is a special entity for which you cannot add costom fields/attributes. Yues you can create relations til Activities. But as long as you cannot create attributes in Activities, and show them on a form, it's not searchable. A relation cannot make attributes searchable.
