KMS product activation failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been having problems activating a machine over KMS. When I try to activate it via command line, it keeps failing with the error "Error: product activation failed". If I try to activate through the Windows Activation GUI, it give me error code 0xC004E003. It's only this one machine, and other machines with the same model box and same image activate fine. I have re-imaged the machine multiple times and I still get this same error every time. I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool, here are the results:

  • [DEL]The KMS activation client on your machine doesn't know how to find the activation server - you need to contact the System Admin for assistance.[DEL]

Sorry - I read that wrong.

KMS Licensing will not work on this machine because the Windows Marker for OA2.0 is invalid - you will have to use and MAK volume activation.
