will Windows 8 Mail app work with Dynamics CRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am configuring a new win 8 tablet device and have a question around Dynamics CRM working with our exchange server.

i want to know if I need to configure the native Outlook client or the Win 8 Mail app. I woudl prefer teh Win 8 mail app as it brings alive the people and calendar functions.

Will the Win 8 mail app work with CRM - both are Microsoft products so they should work together.

  • Hi,

If you mean that CRM could be used from within the Win 8 Mail app, the answer is no! If you set your mail account on the Win 8 mail app your mails and calendar would be synced. Unfortunately, there is no feature for this connection yet. There is some news that MS is going to release a Win 8 App for CRM in the next major release.

  • Short anwser: No, it will not work.

Dynamics CRM is not working with Windows 8 RT yet.

If you have any Windows RT device like Microsoft Surface, Lenovo Yoga then you need to wait for proper Windows 8 app (should be soon) or wait until Dynamics CRM Outlook Client will work on your platform.

I don’t think Windows 8 Mail will work with MS CRM because it’s simplified version of MS Outlook like previously Outlook Express.
