Office 2007 Ultimate download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased Office 2007 Ultimate from digitalriver. I recieved the product key and the link to download. I have the Home Basic trial now and that has run out. I have tried to download and I click run, however, it will get to 1% and stall. The process will 'timeout' and I have to start over. I have tried to enter my product key after clicking on Word and being prompted to convert to full program. I am being told the product key is invalid and to type it again. I have now tried to download the program multiple times with no success. At this point, I am now blocked from downloading due to restrictions on Digital River. So at this point I only have the product key.

I tried multiple things to help with the download: remove firewall, check pop up blocker, I even uninstalled the trail version of Office to see if that helps. It does not.

    Any assistance will be helpful!!!

    Thank you,

    Wendy

  • Hello wchilcote,

For assistance with your order from Digital River, please see the contact information on this page:  https://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayContactFormPage&SiteID=msshus&Locale=en_US&Env=BASE

As to your difficulties with the download, there could be any number of issues on your computer that could be affecting the situation, and all of these types of issues would be beyond the scope of help we can give you here on the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) forum.  I would have to think that if your computer can run and pass (or get fixed by) the diagnostic that we use for OGA, it should be able to download files from just about any legitmate and safe source, which D.R. is.  Here is the online diagnostic:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/default.aspx?

If you continue to have problems downloading, you can ask D.R. to send you the Office Ultimate backup disc for a small addditional charge, or you can try to download from a friend's computer, and then move the downloaded file to your computer with a flash drive, on a DVD, or over a network connection.

If you are in a college/university setting, it's likely that other classmates may have also taken advantage of the Ultimate Steal Deal and have downloaded Office from D.R.  If you know someone who has also downloaded it, you can copy their download file to your computer and use that download file and your product key to do the installation.  The download file is the same for everyone who buys the Ultimate Steal Deal---the product key is the unique thing that makes it yours.  Just be sure to verify with your friend that the file you are copying was directly downloaded from D.R. as part of the Deal---you DO NOT want to use any other downloaded file from any other source, for security and safety reasons!

As far as Office is concerned, it is recommended that you uninstall any Trial installations of Office before installing other editions of Office.  Even though you have uninstalled the Trial, I would recommend running the MS FixIt in the following MS KB article--it will automatically uninstall any leftovers from the previous Office installation, so at least we'll know that there are no leftovers getting in the way of a good installation of your Ultimate, once you get the download file onto your computer, that is.  Here's the article with the uninstaller FixIt:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179/

Hopefully the above info helps in some way :-)
