ISS in WWT RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I tried to track ISS in WWT, and in Earth view, I find the nice 3D model orbiting. But how to spot ISS position in Sky View?

On another note, just looking at the ISS tracks in Earth view, I think they are not correct in WWT. According to Astroviewer and other ISS tracking info on the web, ISS should pass over northern Italy on Jan, 25th, 2018, 6:45:00 PM UTC. If I enter that time in WWT, the ISS path WWT is showing is going across central Africa. Can somebody confirm, please?

  • There is not too much traffic here, guys!

So, I found the solution to the position topic myself. Obviously the orbit/position data does not get corrections in WWT automatically, the user has to find changing orbit info on NASA webpages or similar, and paste TLE info into Earth - ISS - right mouse click - properties - Position - Paste TLE. Still there is some offset, as the TLE info I found is obviously not updated that frequently.

Still searching for how to visualize ISS postition in Sky View!
