Different versions on two PCs when used to snyc both with a USB reovable drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I have been using an earlier version of Synctoy on a laptop to sync with a USB drive, and I decided I want to sync that same USB drive with a desktop unit, do I have to do anything special for the 2nd PC? Can I just load the newest version on it and not worry about compatability since the uSB only has data files on it, not the program itself? Or does using Synctoy put any files on the USB that might thrrow off the newer version on the 2nd PC if i tried to use it with the same USB later?

    Thanks!

  • Hi -

You can use two different versions. Depending on what fixes have gone into the two versions you are using - behavior might be different. But they will be working independently.
