  • Hi David,

Read-optimized forms were included in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Update Rollup 7.

Is rollup 7 installed on CRM online? Microsoft says: For online customers, Update Rollup 7 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 will be applied to production servers in early April 2012. Please confirm whether it is installed.

Also additional information about this feature: This is disabled by default and you have to turn it on.

In Update Rollup 7, read-optimized forms are disabled by default. Because Microsoft is introducing a brand-new experience in viewing records, they didn’t want to surprise by turning it on as the default experience. The default behavior when Update Rollup 7 ships will be to turn off read-optimized forms for all new and existing organizations. The admin or user will have to explicitly turn on the feature to enjoy the capabilities of read-optimized forms.  At the Org level, the admin can set the default form mode for all users by clicking Settings, Administration, System Settings, and then going into the Form mode area.

I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.
