How To Unmount The Recovery Drive/Partition? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I opened a backup to recover a file I accidentally overwrote.  WHS mounted an E: drive on my W7 x64 machine, and I was able to retrieve the file just fine.

However, the recovery drive (E) never unmounted and I want to recoup that HDD space - it's been over a month since I did this.  How do I get rid of the Recovery Drive and return the space to my C: drive?

  • Umm, have you rebooted your Windows 7 machine since the restore operation?
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
