Custom entities in CRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone ever used CRM for things like vacancies and scheduling interviews?
Basically I'm looking to configure some HR processes in CRM.

  • The big downside for using CRM for managing a recuitment process is that recruiters often need to be able to perform full text searching on candidates's CVs/resumes. CRM doesn't offer this functionality and to implement a CRM/SharePoint/Search Server solution is complex and expensive.

Unless there is a a compelling reason to use Dynamics CRM, you might want to look at something best of breed such as Invenias.

  • I do not see why you couldn't?

In addition to contacts you could create a custom entity for vacancies, relate that back to contacts, then work with the service modules for scheduling or use appointment activities. I don't think it would be too difficult.

Check out the c360 Group Calendar as well @ http://www.c360.com/GroupCalendar.aspx

  • Yes, I have seen it used for that kind of thing and also as a system to store a database of potential candidates/resumes.

  • Hi,

Thanks. I looked at Invenias and it does look appealing for Recruitment.
I was also looking at Training and Development in CRM because of the workflow functionality as well.

The reason being, the client also uses GP 10.0 and CRM is currently integrated with GP. They don't want to use several systems to enable all of their HR processes.

Apparently they do not "like" GP as the HR solution.

  • The latest xRM demo VPC for Dynamics CRM has three xRM verticals, one of which is employee management (Jobs, Employees, Relocations, Inquiries, Job Applications, Applicants, Job Titles). If you can get hold of a copy it may be worth a look.
