Have downloaded recommended codecs; have installed Microsoft Fix it; have uninstalled VLC; still no video on media player, although audio works fine.

Just downloaded Windows Media Player 11, as per instructions. Rebooted pc, and still no video! What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this?
