Key activated, but is it legit?

Question
-
Purchased a copy of Win7 Pro Retail at online auction site, and now I am questioning its authenticity(go figure)...I know there is a lot of counterfeit stuff for sale usually, but the seller had excellent feedback on past sales of this item, so I guess I took the bait.
The key activated without issue, but upon closer inspection, the discs/packaging do not look genuine.(punctuation errors on packaging, disc holograms peel off, overall 'cheap' feel).
Can anybody tell me if this is actually a genuine, legit Retail key?
Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

The Key in use is an MSDN Key.Unless you are an MSDN subscriber, you are not entitled to use the Key – and whoever sold it to you was not entitled to do so.Your Windows Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN account. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.

Windows Product ID: 00371-222-1739474-86794
The product ID -221- Indicates a not for resale MSDN account. If you are not the account holder and you purchased this in a retail box, the box and it's contents are counterfeit. Demand an immediate refund from the seller
