Money 2000 Compatibilty with Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning, I've just taken delivery of my shiny new PC operating on Windows 10, I knew there were some compatibility problems with Microsoft Money 2000 but was confident that editing the registry as others had I'd be fine.

the recommended change is from 9.11.10240.16384 to 9.11.10240.0 this value isn't an option in my registry, what I have is 9.11.14393.0

    OS Build 14393.321

Could anyone advise of a fix for this please?

    Many thanks

    Matt

  • Hi Matt

The 'Registry change' to which you refer was initially a problem with Windows 10 but is now fixed and superfluous. It is recommended that users 'upgrade' (if that's the term) to the end of line versions appropriate to their country available in the first 2 posts in the forum.

  • The registry edit was only needed before the first Cumulative Update to Windows 10 in August 2015.

Your .mny data file must be in your Windows 10 Documents area, not the Money default Program Files (x86) area. All you need to do is copy your latest .mny file to C:\Users\<username>\Documents, launch Money and choose File - Open.

You can update to the latest regional version of Money from the second post in this forum. Note that your .mny file will not open and convert with a different regional version of Money.
