Why is WHS complaining of low hard disk space with 5 drives, 3 of which are only 33% used? RRS feed

  • Question

  • My WHS is comprised of 5 disks.

    1 x 74GB (SystemDisk)
    4 x 500GB (StorageDisk)

I have enabled folder duplication on everything.

WHS has taken the 74GB drive and made it 99% full. It has also taken 1 of the 4 500GB drives and made it 84% full. The rest of the drives are sitting there at 33% full. Now WHS is complaining that some drives are low in space.

I have no idea what is going on. I've included screenshots of things I believe might help out. If you require any more information please let me know. Please ignore the additional two drives attached to WHS, they are external USB drives not added to the storage pool and are irrelevant to this issue.

    Error Message
    Server Storage
    Disk Management WHS Console
    Disk Management MMC

When you added data to your server, did you use the UNC path (\\server\share)?  What are the component numbers of your server (Settings button, Resources tab)?  If you look at the processes running on your server, do you see one called DEMigrator.exe?

Since you are running PP3 beta, I would strongly suggest you file a bug report on Connect.
