HPC2008 on XP64-bit running Virtual PC RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a 64-bit XP desktop, and have the 64-bit version of VirtualPC2007 installed.  I tried installing the HPC2008 on it and it didn't like it.  Anyone know if this is possiable?  I don't have another 64-bit system laying around to test, and need to keep my desktop to test other 64-bit applications.

  • You may try a dual-boot configuration using x64 Server 2008 on a second partition and Hyper-V to create a virtual cluster.  More details at the following blog:

Other options...  VMWare is an excellent option that enables x64 virtual machines on XP/Vista.
