Picking a Field - Need some help. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have experience with some programing, networking and servers. I was thinking of asp .net, Microsoft SQL server, or even windows server 2008. I've looked at the catalog but all the information is a bit overwelming. I'm trying to find beginner course to get me certified in something, so I can find a job. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Well, as a foundation, on the three technologies you have talked about you should probably go for:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-536&locale=en-us - .net foundation
Exam 70-432: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Installation and Maintenance
Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring

As for which path to take, i'd personally recommend following whichever one you enjoy most. At the end of the day, you are talking about which direction you will be taking the career you (currently) plan on spending the rest of your working life doing.
