Copy old task into a new one RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Does crm have any functionality where i could make an exact copy of an old task into a new one where i could just change the date and essentially have a new task?

Also is there any function for recurring tasks?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gordie

  • you can do this using workflow as well..

create on demand workflow against Task ...select it to run as on demand..

add step to create task and then copy all details from existing task to this new task except date.

save and publish the workflow and you can open your relevant task and click on run workflow button and select workflow created in above step and run the workflow..this will create new identical task for you in the back groud.

    Hope this helps..

  • Yes, you just have to retrieve that task, remove the activityid property and also all attributes that are not valid for create (see http://yourserver:port/sdk/list.aspx and look for the task entity)

Then update the date and use the Create method of the crm service
