Data Analysis on Project Server

Question
-
My organization creates numerous projects and tags them as "awarded" and "proposed". We would like to create a view in the data analysis that lists resources by week and resource type, then indicates their work and how much remaining capacity for work the resource has remaining. I would like the pivot table graph to be a column graph that stacks Awarded work, Proposed Work, and remaining capacity for work on top of one-another. Is this possible?
I have created the pivot table, but so far I end up with multiple "remaining capacity" fields where each subtracts the Awarded work from the total capacity or the proposed work from the total capacity. The end result is a graph with *two* "remaining capacity" fields, and an inaccurate representation of the resources' actual remaining capacity.

It's going to take a while to reconfigure project to handle this I'm thinking. I'll try to post again in a week or two with an update. I found out we are *not* using the proposed/committed field of resources so I'm looking into utilizing that as a baseline. The problem of course, is that the users are concerned about how this restricts them. Sounds to me like that would be WAI though. Gotta dig more.

Not sure if I understand the question correctly, but you can use the "proposed" vs "commited" feature. When you assign a resource to a project you can mark them as proposed or commited. This is an out of the box feature and the OLAP cube reports against this as a dimension.
Is this what you are after?

It might be. I'm just getting started with Project Server so I'll have to investigate and get back to you. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ryan,
Sounds like you all are doing EXACTLY what I'm seeking to do with our MOPS 2007 - I too am just getting started with this, but I envision the stacked assigned-proposed-capacity bars just as you describe, with multiple bars showing each resource side by side to help determine where the new "proposed" work/projects could best be assigned. however, we have some IE security issues we may not be able to overcome, which is unfortunate since it blocks Data Analysis views...aaargh.
But please report back as I'd love to know if you get it working! Thanks.
cheers /td
