How to allow someone to only assign a Queue to themselves and no one else? CRM 2013 RRS feed

  • Is it possible to only allow someone to assign a Queue to themselves to work and not someone else in the Team?  I've found that they need AssignTo on Business Unit to Work items in the Queue, but this also allows them to assign to anyone else.  Can I remove or lock down the second option?  Thanks.

  • I don't think you can do this without a bit of code. There are 2 code options:

    1. Client-side. If you edit the ribbon, you can remove/conditionally display the normal Assign button, and replace it with a custom button, which could launch a custom dialog (either a web resource, or a dialog) that would only give options to assign to a queue.
    2. Server-side. You could write a plugin to detect if a user is trying to assign to another user, and throw an error if so
