Creating Certificate Signing Requests using MMC and Basic Constraints RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.  I'm Using Microsoft Management Console in Windows 7 to generate a Certificate Signing Request. Long story short, after filling in all the Certificate Properties I need, I enable the "Basic constraints" extensions because I want this certificate to be an End Entity, and I want the Path Length to equal "None" and not "0". There is a difference. I was wondering if there was some way to get the Path Length to have a value of "None" instead of 0 when generating the CSR through MMC?  From what I've seen when I open the generated Certificate in OpenSSL, the PathLengthConstraints field has a value of 0 - which is not what I want.  I want the PathLengthConstraints to equal None.  I was just wondering if there was any way to do this (using the helpful GUI of MMC)?
