Upgrading to OCS R2 Enterprise RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm going to migrate my existing OCS 2007 standard to OCS 2007 R2, can I use the certificate for the existing OCS to the new OCS 2007 R2 at the same time? so that all the users still can connect to my existing OCS standard server while I testing the new OCS 2007 R2 server? Thank you!!!

  • This depends on your configuration, the server's FQDNs, the certificate specific values, and your DNS SRV/A records.  Ideally you should leave your configuration alone and test the R2 server with clients using Manual Configuration.  When you are ready to migrate your user population over to the R2 server then you would update the SRV records so that Automatic Configuration will then points to the new server.  You can use Manual Configuration to then connect to the old 2007 pool if needed before decommissioning the server.
