homepage not indexed MSN serps RRS feed

  • Question

  • we were previously scoring number 2 for term "electrical contractors" on MSN, but now we are not in top 100. upon investigating in webmaster tools at MSN.co.uk our homepage is not indexed but all other pages (over 200) are. why is this? And how do we get homepage back in listings? when we ranked high the homepage was showing top in results. We are not banned, no illegal tactics, have lots of themed industry realted backlinks and good changing content.

    thanks in advance

  • Same problem here. My site was number one for "porno" (it's an adult site) and has been indexed for many years. Now the homepage is not indexed but all other pages are (more than 7.000). It's not blocked.

My site is http://www.iberporno.com (caution, adult content inside).

    Thanks a lot.

  • Thanks a lot Brett. There is nothing illegal on my site in any european or usa market and there is no reason to block the homepage. I will complete the content inclusion request.

    Cheers.

  • Brett, I sent a content inclusion request one month ago but no response until now. I tried to complete another content inclusion request and this was the answer: "The Live Search Team continuously updates the algorithms we use to ensure we have the highest quality content in our search results. You will notice over time that your rank, which is relative to all the content we crawl on the Internet, will change. This is natural as other sites modify their content, as new sites are created, and as you modify your content as well."

What can I do? Perhaps send another content inclusion request?? I think the answer will be the same another time.

I'm really desesperated. Brett, You are the only person on Microsoft Team that really understand the issue. I think peaople under Live Search support don't read the details of the issue.

    Thank you very much.
