MCITP and Exams

Question

I am new to all the exams and such and I have a few questions... Do you need an MTA before the MCITP? Do you only need to pass the one section to get the MCITP? I was looking at these books http://www.amazon.com/Self-Paced-Training-70-640-70-642-70-646/dp/0735625085/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1297311147&sr=8-25 and thought maybe I would try for MCITP: Server Administrator
So how does it work and what is the general cost for an exam?

I am not sure what an MTA is. For an MCITP, you will need to pass a collection of exams based on a certain product. Usually you will start with MCTS exams which will count toward the MCITP track. This link will explain the different types of exams:

Personally I would strongly recommend doing the MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) exams to build your basics, cause at 16 the chances that you'll have 1-2 years experience working with X technology (in a professional capacity) is slim.
Is there an age requirement on the exams? No.
