lost oem cd key RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just bought a new desktop pc and a windows xp oem. The os was pre-installed by the computer store but they did not attach the oem sticker to the cpu casing. Unfortunately, when I tried to look for the cd-key and sticker, I can no longer locate it, I probably misplaced it. All I have is the oem number that was written on my receipt. I badly needed the cd-key now cause I formatted my hard disk and reinstalled my win xp. Can microsoft provide me the cd-key by giving them the oem number?

Your systembuider (the computer store) can order replacement media from Microsoft by following this link http://oem.microsoft.com/script/contentPage.aspx?pageid=555744&wt_ref=US_INF&wt_ref2=1OMR if they are a registered system builder partner.
