  • Question

  • Hello

I think a good addon for windows home server would a temp monitor that could be added into the server control center... becuase i like to monitor my server temp and when i go on long trips i would like to be able to just login to the control center and see how hot it is running at..that way if it is overheating i can shut it down remotely.. I would like to hear everyones opinion on this....

  • I agree this would be useful. However there are so many different interfaces to temp sensors and the like, that this would be a huge challenge. My current hardware (Asus RS100 based on P5M2 board) come  with monitoring package but needs SNMP which is not included on WHS. My hopes are now pinned on www.Speedfan.org. (My setup not yet supported, but fingers crossed.)

Which SNMP was included though, controlling temperature and fans, is in my opinion important i a home environment, were noise levels should be kept low. Most or all retail will be WHS certified and therefor less that 30db, so guess a solution is unlikely.

    Fingers crossed!
