Is ICE able to read 4K videos? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is ICE able to read 4K videos?
I am trying to load a file with the following specs:
    MPEG4 Video (H264) 4096x2160 23.976fps 59950kbps
I have tried converting it to other file formats while preserving the original resolution and frame rate.
ICE will still refuse to load any of these converted files.
Can anyone help me understand what I need to do in order to avoid extracting frames from these videos?

    Best regards,
    Bogdan

Thank you very much for you reply Matt!

Is there anything else I can do on Windows 7 to correct the problem?

My understanding is that ICE uses the Microsoft Foundation for loading video files.
Can this be upgraded to enable the support for the 4K MPEG4 files I have?
Are there any hardware accelerated codecs that can be configured to be used by Microsoft Foundation / ICE such as the loading / playing 4K videos will work?
I am asking this because installing K-lite codec packs on my laptop and enabling VAL codecs has enabled me to view extremely smooth 4K videos in WMP which prior was unable to even play the file on the same machine.

    Thanks in advance,
