The Windows Server Client Computer Backup Service failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having issues getting my Windows Home Server 2011 to backup my client computers.  Each time a backup fails, I get the following error in the event log.  I have ran the cleanup on the bakup database but still have been unsuccessfull.  All my home systems are Windows 7. Any advise would be apprecited.

  • I have exactly the same error. It seemed to appear after several Windows 7 and WHS 2011 updates. If I discover a solution, I will let you know.

  • No idea what is the cause but I would suggest a bug be logged on connect.

Also as you may not have a valid client backup at present, have you tried removing the machines involved from the server and re-connecting. After this re run the backup to see if it works on this occasion.

  • I have removed and reinstalled the connector 3 times, rebuilt my server from the ground up, run chkdsk several times all to no avail. Windows Home Server 2011 is singularly impressive as the worst piece of software I have ever bought.
